Taylen Green shatters Anthony Richardson’s NFL Combine records in vertical, broad jump
Taylen Green is trying his best to impress scouts this week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, all for the sake of improving his draft stock come spring.
The former Arkansas signal-caller accomplished all of that on Saturday, and he did a little Combine record-breaking while he was at it, at the expense of another former SEC quarterback. Ex-Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson started the day with the previous top Combine marks for a QB in the vertical jump (40-5) and broad jump (10-9), but by day’s end in Indy, those records belonged to a former signal-caller who played in Fayetteville.
That would be Green, who shattered Richardson’s marks from the 2023 Combine on Saturday with a vertical jump of 43-5 and a broad jump of 11-2. It remains to be seen how this particular February day at the Combine affects Green’s draft status in April, and it naturally remains to be seen how Green will pan out as an NFL quarterback.
But it can’t be denied that this was Green’s day to go down in NFL Combine history, as he put on an absolute show for scouts with his athletic ability in 2 different categories.
The NFL’s social media account paid particular attention to Green’s height and weight when pointing out how remarkable his vertical jump was on Saturday. Green is 6-foot-6 and 227 pounds, as the NFL post read, so his ability to shatter Richardson’s mark while being that tall put the former Razorbacks signal-caller in his own unique athletic category.
