Ryan Switzer will be Tulsa’s interim head coach to close out the 2024 season, according to a report.

That news comes via ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Switzer will be stepping in for Kevin Wilson, who has reportedly been fired following the Golden Hurricane’s 3-8 start to the campaign.

Switzer, who turned 30 earlier this month, is in his second season of his coaching career. Wilson hired him to be his wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator ahead of the 2023 season.

Switzer had a remarkable career at North Carolina before turning pro. Switzer amassed over 2,900 receiving yards with the Tar Heels, which makes him the program’s all-time career leader in that category. He’s also UNC’s all-time leader in total receptions.

Switzer’s NFL career included stints with the Cowboys, Raiders, Steelers and Browns. He was last on an NFL roster in 2021. Switzer was a 4th-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Tulsa will host Florida Atlantic in it season finale with Switzer calling the shots next week.
