Report: Another Big Ten team has paused football workouts after positive COVID-19 test
By Adam Spencer
Published:
The Big Ten has had a few different teams have to hit pause on football workouts at various points during the buildup to the 2020 season.
Now, that situation has made its way to Northwestern, where the Wildcats will reportedly shut things down until at least Wednesday.
The reason? According to Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, one player has tested positive for COVID-19:
Northwestern has paused football workouts after a player tested positive for COVID-19, @TeddyGreenstein reports. Wildcats will not resume workouts until Wednesday at the earliest

With the way this virus spreads, the Wildcats will likely want to run more tests on the other players to make sure no one else tests positive.
The name of the player hasn’t been released, as it probably won’t be due to medical privacy laws. We’ll see if the Wildcats are able to restart on Wednesday or if they’ll have to shut things down for longer.
