Ryan Day comments on Ohio State player who stormed off the field vs. Akron
Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes cruised to an easy 59-7 victory over Akron on Saturday night.
But, the game wasn’t without drama, as LB K’Vaughan Pope appeared to quit the team midway through the game, storming into the locker room after tossing his gloves in the crowd.
He then sent (and deleted) a tweet from the locker room that said “f— Ohio State” and wished his teammates luck moving forward.
Naturally, Day was asked about Pope following the game. In the immediate aftermath of the win, Day said he didn’t have many answers, as he’d have to review what happened:
This is understandably a complicated & difficult situation involving a disgruntled player unhappy w/ his usage at this point of his career. That said, if it resulted in the player literally walking off the field to make a statement/feel heard, it’s definitely a much larger issue. pic.twitter.com/D0SFLDkR4Y

Obviously, frustrated or not, that’s not a good look for Pope and the Buckeyes.
We’ll see what Day decides in the aftermath of this incident, or if Pope enters the transfer portal of his own accord.
