In this pandemic world of social distancing, there is plenty to learn about how stadium atmospheres will look like for the 2020 college football season. Oklahoma State may have revealed one option for fans to gather in a stadium, but still be spaced out enough to be safe.

Kevin Klintworth, senior associate athletic director at OSU, shared a picture of Boone Pickens Stadium with chairback seats clustered in groups, and spread out as a way to possibly have families together, and then other fans separate.

Many programs around the country have released attendance changes for the 2020 season, and they are largely around 20,000 to 30,000 fans, generally about 20 percent of capacity of most major college football program stadiums. Tailgating has been limited or barred from certain sections of campus, and bands and cheerleaders are often not allowed this season.

Universities and local municipalities also require masks to be worn in the stadiums.

The SEC previously told universities to go by state and local guidelines, policies and/or regulations about fan attendance and safety guidelines.

As more and more ideas and plans come out, look for programs around the country to adopt plans that work.
