Shea Patterson, the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the nation, according to, will be making his official visit to Ole Miss this weekend.

Patterson committed to the Rebels in February. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback passed for 2,248 yards and 38 touchdowns last year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. As a sophomore, he threw for 2,655 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Patterson has also been trying to convince two IMG teammates, five-star tight end Isaac Nauta and four-star receiver Drake Davis, to join him in Oxford.

The quarterback has family ties to the Rebels. His brother Sean is Ole Miss’ associate director of recruiting options.
