Chad Kelly has offered an interesting take this week on what he perceives as his value as a professional quarterback.

The former Ole Miss and Clemson signal caller was a backup this year in the Canadian Football League but said this week on the “Pardon My Take” podcast that he could start for 50 percent of the teams in the NFL.

Said Kelly per Pro Football Talk: “Obviously there’s a lot of off the field stuff, right? We all know about it. It’s all been publicized. … But I think people (mistake) my on-the-field capabilities of thinking clearly, right? Because they see that I do some dumb things off the field. So I think that with my saying 50 percent, I feel like I know the game a lot more than a lot of people because I started at such a young age, and that’s all I knew.”

An interesting take to say the least from Kelly, who had short NFL stints with Denver and Indianapolis.

Will he get another NFL shot down the road? Only time will tell.
