Back-to-back commitments for Ole Miss: 4-star defensive back Dink Jackson pledges to the Rebels
Lane Kiffin and company have to be doing cartwheels heading into the weekend as Ole Miss went from six commitments to eight in the 2021 recruiting cycle in a matter of an hour.
Not long after Georgia defensive lineman Jibran Hawkins announced his commitment to Ole Miss, the Rebels secured a commitment from one of the top safety prospects in the entire 2021 recruiting cycle when Dink Jackson announced his pledge to join Kiffin’s football program on Friday during a live ceremony on Facebook.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Melbourne, Fla., native is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 15 safety in the nation and a top 300 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Jackson picked Ole Miss over scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and West Virginia.
Jackson was at one point committed to Dan Mullen’s Florida program but he backed off that decision back in May of 2019.
In his three seasons on the high school gridiron, Jackson has 152 tackles, 11 sacks and 10 touchdowns (five rushing, four receiving and one on special teams) on the field.
The Eau Gallie product is now the second-highest rated prospect in the current Ole Miss recruiting class and gives the Rebels some much-needed momentum on the recruiting trail heading into August.
