Former Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg, who left the team early this past season after being disciplined by the coaching staff, has officially entered the transfer portal.

Trigg spent 2 seasons in Oxford and totaled 21 receptions for 221 yards and 4 touchdowns across 10 appearances. He saw action in 3 games this past season before departing from the program in late September. Because he was no longer with the team, an entry into the portal was expected.

Here’s his post making his intentions official:

This is Trigg’s 2nd time turning to the transfer portal. He originally started his career at USC and followed former Trojans QB Jaxson Dart to Oxford. He totaled 7 receptions and 1 touchdown his freshman season in Los Angeles.

The departure of Trigg was a blessing in disguise, truth be told. Caden Prieskorn saw more snaps and played very well, finishing the year with 20 receptions for 313 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Memphis transfer will be back in Oxford for another season in 2024. Trigg, on the other hand, will look elsewhere for his final seasons of eligibility.
