The Jim Harbaugh spring break saga marches on.

Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines are conducting workouts at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. this week, a subject which has been a sore spot for SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and a growing number of SEC coaches.

The Wolverines’ final practice of the week is supposed to be open to the public, and SEC coaches have hinted at a desire to attend.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze told the media on Thursday afternoon that he has requested to attend.

SEC Country grabbed Freeze’s quotes on the subject of Michigan practicing in Florida:

“I’m all for being creative. I’ll give them credit for that,” Freeze said to reporters Thursday. “I don’t let what other people do bother me too much, but I’m not sure how a college coach can be on a high school campus during a quiet period. I don’t quite understand that.”

“They’re having an open practice, I think, tomorrow, and I’ve actually requested to go to it,” Freeze said. “I want to watch the practice, but I don’t think I’ll get approval to do that. But that’s the only thing I don’t understand. I give them credit for being creative. There are parts of it I don’t understand.”

Freeze is probably right in assuming that he won’t be allowed to go, as Arkansas coach Bret Bielema learned he wouldn’t be allowed to attend earlier in the day.

On Thursday morning, Bielema Tweeted that the NCAA office told him he would be unable to attend the open practice because it was a quiet period.

On Wednesday, Bret Bielema expressed an interest in taking his staff to see the open practice, and received Twitter responses from Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio and Tennessee’s Butch Jones about getting together for lunch.

That prompted a Tweet from Harbaugh in Jones’ direction.
