Heather Dinich went in-depth on Ole Miss’ 20-17 loss to Kentucky during an appearance on ESPN on Sunday morning.

Dinich described the loss as “a huge punch in the gut” and went on to say that the lack of room for error will be what proves to be most challenging for Lane Kiffin’s team.

“To lose at home to an unranked Kentucky squad, and it’s not even the loss, but the lack of wiggle room now that they have,” Dinich said. “Heading into the heart of SEC play they have a tough stretch, and they have to be able to have a winning record against LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia.”

Dinich noted how it is even more important for Ole Miss to pick up some strong wins in conference play since it lacked any such victories in the non conference portion of its campaign.

Four of the Rebels’ next six games are on the road as well, making this a difficult and intriguing next month and a half for Kiffin & Co. Ole Miss ventures to Columbia, S.C. for a date with the Gamecocks this week before heading to Baton Rouge to take on the Bayou Bengals. Home games with Oklahoma and Georgia and road matchups with Arkansas and Florida also loom.
