John Saunders Jr., Miami-Ohio transfer, announces SEC West commitment

Miami (Ohio) cornerback John Saunders Jr. is SEC bound.
Saunders announced he was headed to Ole Miss on Friday not long after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal in search of a chance of scenery.
Ole Miss hosted Saunders over the weekend and sealed the deal, marking yet another success for transfer portal maverick and Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin, who has shown himself to be among the best recruiters in the modern era of college football.
Saunders has plenty of time to develop with multiple years of eligibility remaining, something that could prove advantageous for a team that has struggled on defense in multiple aspects — namely tackling issues in the secondary and issues on run defense.
To this point in his career over the course of the 2022 season, Saunders totaled 52 tackles (34 solo), 10 passes defended, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
