Kermit Davis and the Ole Miss Rebels will host Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers in Oxford on Saturday, Dec. 4.
That’s a rivalry game that is important to the folks in the region, and Davis said he’d like to see it continue.
During a recent podcast appearance, Davis said he and Hardaway both agree that the game should be played every year:
“I called (Memphis HC) Penny (Hardaway) when I got the job and told him I think we should play (every year) and he agrees with it.”
“It’s a game we all want happen.”

Last year, the game was canceled due to COVID-19 issues, but it will be back this season.
Now, we’ll see if Davis and the Rebels can get some payback for a 2019 loss to the Tigers. The game will tip off at noon Eastern time on Dec. 4 and will air on ESPN2.
