In an offseason full of bad news, the Ole Miss Rebels got even more on Saturday afternoon during a training camp scrimmage.

According to reports, sophomore DT Benito Jones had to be taken to the hospital after a hard hit during the scrimmage.

Though Jones will have X-rays taken of his spine, an Ole Miss spokesperson confirmed that he did not lose feeling in his arms or legs after the hit:

Jones was a third-team Freshman All-American last season, recording 39 tackles (4.5 for loss) and half a sack for the Rebels.

The 6-2, 285-pound lineman was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school and was expected to be a big part of the Ole Miss defense this fall.
