Ole Miss picked up its 6th win of the season Saturday, downing LSU at home, 31-17.

The win makes the 10th-ranked Rebels bowl eligible, something that Lane Kiffin was asked about Monday during his weekly press conference.

Kiffin made it clear that just being bowl eligible isn’t the standard he expects at Ole Miss and that others should expect more as well.

“That’s not how I think and honestly trying to change the way a lot of people think (around here),” Kiffin said.

Kiffin was also asked about the ongoing issues that his team has had with penalties in 2021.

The Rebels rank last in FBS with 10.2 penalties per game and 128th out of 130 teams in penalty yards per game with 84.3.

He responded with the kind of answer that only Kiffin would offer.

“I told them today, guys, we don’t just lead the NCAA in penalties,” he said. “We lead little league, junior high.”

The Rebels will look for their 4th consecutive win on Saturday with a tough road test at No. 18 Auburn.
