Lane Kiffin discusses the Ole Miss crowd, defensive dominance after win over LSU
Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels cruised to an easy 31-17 home win over LSU on Saturday afternoon after a bit of a sluggish start.
The Rebels were down 7-0 early, but then went on a tear to improve to 6-1 on the season. The defense played better than it has all year, and the offense did enough to pick up the win.
After the game, Kiffin discussed a number of topics. Here’s some of what he had to say about the Rebels on Saturday:
On the impact the crowd had on the game and the defense’s performance:
Kiffin: "I thought the crowd was awesome today. The players fed off it. Really pleased with our players, especially the defense. Held these guys to 77 yards rushing, for a team that ran the ball so well last week against Florida."

On Jerrion Ealy’s big day:
Kiffin on Ealy: "I think he opened his stride up. He hadn't been doing that. When you have a speed back, that's what it's supposed to look like. It's at the right time. Without these receivers, these guys (RBs) had to step up."

On the Rebels’ record in the past 12 games:
Kiffin on being 10-2 in last 12 games: "I attribute that to guys playing well. I attribute that to having Matt Corral. Let's make no mistake, that record is not 10-2 without him, that's for sure. They find a way to win. The stars seem to change every week."

On Matt Corral:
Kiffin on Corral: "When you can't push off, it's hard to play QB. The guy is a warrior. The guy is awesome. I wish we had all the pieces (healthy) around him. He's awesome and I don't know where we'd be without him."

Can the Rebels keep the good times going? They’ll head to Auburn next weekend for another big SEC West showdown.
