Lane Kiffin gives insight on what pregame handshakes are like between coaches
It’s pretty hard to watch a football game and not the see the two head coaches greet each other at midfield.
The tradition has been around forever, and has become a part of football.
Ole Miss’s Lane Kiffin spoke on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday and revealed what actually gets said between coaches during pregame handshakes.
“I remind our coaches all the time, enjoy this while you have it.”

“Both people are really just ready for the game, it’s just some tradition that they have,” said Kiffin. “So you go out there and say, ‘Hey, welcome.’ Talk about the weather, or how’s everything? How’s Miss Terry doing and that’s about it.
“What people really think we’re talking about out there? You know, I’m really gonna work on your safety today with some double moves? There ain’t a whole lot to say.”
Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban will face each other at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS on Saturday.
We’ll see if Nick Saban’s undefeated record of 23-0 against former assistants will keep going as these 2 undefeated teams face off.
