Lane Kiffin has extended the feud with ESPN’s Michael Wilbon to question his professionalism after the “Pardon the Interruption” co-host ripped him on Tuesday.

On the SEC coaches media teleconference on Wednesday, Kiffin responded in-depth for the first time since he tweeted some emojis about Wilbon’s opinion.

“I think everybody has a right to whatever,” Kiffin said. “You can’t control what people do. I worry more when the person’s actually met you and knows you and says those things versus someone who has never met you and doesn’t know you at all. To say those things is pretty over the top compared to what most professional media people say. But I guess he got attention. That’s the name of the game.”

Kiffin again focused on having met someone.

“Usually professional media don’t go that far, again, especially when you’ve never met someone,” he said. “It is what it is. It’s not like the guy had earth-shattering news with Alabama is going to beat us. He should go to Vegas with that earth-shattering prediction.”

That was all in response to a toss-up question on PTI about which team would be the better winner for college football this season between Ole Miss and Alabama.

“The answer’s Alabama, because of Lane Kiffin. There’s nothing to be proud of if you’re college football, or any other sport with Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin’s a clown. Lane Kiffin has been an embarrassment at multiple stops. Nobody’s going to run out there and say, ‘Yeah, I want Lane Kiffin right here on the logo representing me.’ The answer’s Alabama, Tony. Lane Kiffin’s a cute little story for guys like us who have to talk about sports every day. We can come in on Monday and say, ha ha ha, Lane Kiffin. Once again, Lane Kiffin equals embarrassment at some point wherever he is.”
