Lane Kiffin has led a big turnaround for Ole Miss’s program over the years.

His success was awarded recently with a contract extension, as he continues his journey with the Rebels that began in 2020.

At Tuesday’s Peach Bowl press conference, Kiffin spoke on how grateful he is to be hired by Ole Miss “in the first place.”

“To get an extension, which didn’t change any financial part of the situation, it added length and commitment that this is where we want to be, and commitment from the university,” Kiffin said. “So, I’m very pleased to be part of it.”

Kiffin is also grateful for the time he’s had with his staff and players, and the leadership he’s witnessed these past few seasons.

“They’ve done amazing, you know, to win 10 games in 2 of the last 3 seasons,” Kiffin said. “I think of where it was when we got here and where it is now, and what’s going on in terms of recruiting leading into next year. It’s really amazing to be part of it.”

No. 11 Ole Miss went 10-2 during the regular season. The Rebels will go up against No. 10 Penn State in the Peach Bowl this Saturday at noon on ESPN.

“I’m excited to watch these guys play one more game,” Kiffin said.
