Lane Kiffin does not plan on leaving Ole Miss any time soon. The Rebels announced Tuesday that Kiffin has agreed to a contract extension.

Kiffin has the chance to deliver Ole Miss its first-ever 11-win season with a victory in the Peach Bowl against Penn State. The Rebels have achieved their first two 10-win regular seasons during Kiffin’s tenure.

“Our football program is experiencing unprecedented success under Coach Kiffin, and we could not be more excited about what the future holds under his leadership,” Ole Miss athletic director Carter said in a program release. “In just four years, he has established our team as a sustained winner that is on a trajectory to championship status. With our continued investment in the program and the tremendous support of the Grove Collective, the Ole Miss family is committed to providing Coach Kiffin the resources needed to compete at an elite level.”

Before wrapping up the 2023 campaign, Kiffin is already generating hype for Ole Miss’ 2024 season with numerous high-profile transfer commitments. The Rebels are No. 11 in the final College Football Playoff rankings of 2023 and are being talked about as a 2024 championship contender with the Playoff field expanding to 12 teams next season.

“We’re doing things here that have never been done before, and with the commitment that our leadership and supporters are making, we have the opportunity to build on the foundation that has been established over the last four years,” Kiffin said via the program. “I’m grateful to Chancellor Boyce and Keith for their support, and we look forward to continuing on our path to becoming a championship program.”

Kiffin is 33-15 in his 4 seasons at Ole Miss with a 20-13 mark in conference play. State law in Mississippi means Kiffin’s contract runs through the 2028 season. Ole Miss’ announcement did not address if there are any changes to Kiffin’s compensation, which the previous agreement bumped to $8.75 million for the 2023 season and $8.85 million for 2024.
