You’d figure the NCAA’s investigation of Ole Miss is making the school uneasy, and coach Hugh Freeze had a way of describing it that may make you feel uneasy.

At Ole Miss’ Pro Day, Freeze compared it to a “four-year colonoscopy” in a story by CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd.

It’s been previously reported that the NCAA sent Ole Miss a notice of inquiry including 28 alleged violations, 13 of which are related to the football team. Some of those violations are from previous staff under former coach Houston Nutt, while some are not.

Of course, many are looking at the NCAA’s allegations as a sign of impending doom for the Rebels’ program, contributing to an opinion that there’s no way Ole Miss could’ve made this much progress without cutting corners.

Freeze is aware of that well-circulated thought.

“Have I been insulted? Absolutely. Many times,” Freeze said, according to Dodd. “I handle it a lot better now. … The perception out there and the narrative of all this pay-for-play that is, in my opinion, very inaccurate.”

“We’re extremely confident in who we are and how we do things inside this building.”
