That about sums it up for Ole Miss freshman QB Shea Patterson’s performance Saturday night against Texas A&M. Patterson threw for 338 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 64 yards.

And the Johnny Manziel comparisons have started.

Heck, Patterson said after the game that Manziel was his favorite player growing up, and in the house that Johnny helped re-build, he put on a show.

We haven’t really seen a Manziel-like player in the SEC since Mr. Football himself left for the NFL, and Patterson is probably the closest to Manziel. Perhaps he’s not as electric of a runner; perhaps he will be a more polished passer than Manziel.

Time will answer those comparisons.

But Saturday night, Twitter was buzzing about Patterson being the next Manziel. No pressure, Shea!
