Ole Miss AD denies 2024 Egg Bowl report after schedule leak

It was initially reported that the annual Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State had a date set for next season.

However, according to 247Sports writer Brad Logan, Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter said a date for the Mississippi-based clash in Oxford has not been officially set yet.

Yesterday it was reported the 2024 Ole Miss football schedule accidentally was sent out.

It was previously reported that the Egg Bowl for the 2024 campaign would be slated for Thanksgiving night, as it was this season and has been several seasons in the past.

Ole Miss beat Mississippi State by a 17-7 score in this season’s Egg Bowl, the Rebels’ third win in the last four meetings. The Rebels have an all-time record of 65-46-6 against the Bulldogs.

No. 11 Ole Miss takes on No. 10 Penn State in the Chick Fil-A Peach Bowl at noon Dec. 30. Mississippi State missed out on bowl eligibility after finishing its 2023 season at 5-7.
