Ole Miss got a commitment from Mississippi Gulf Coast running back Trey Hall, with the Mississippi native announcing on Saturday that he’s taking his talents to Oxford and the SEC.
The Vicksburg, Miss., native went to social media to post a message regarding his commitment to the Rebels, who are coming off a 10-3 season in which they narrowly missed getting into the 12-team College Football Playoff.
“I had a plan, but God had a better one,” Hall wrote on his post.
Ole Miss’s running back depth for next season gets a huge boost with Hall staying in-state rather than continuing his collegiate career elsewhere.
Hall is listed at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, and he’ll have 4 years of eligibility left come this fall, if the recent ruling in favor of JUCO time not counting toward NCAA eligibility stands.
Arkansas State, Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky had offers to Hall as well, according to On3.
Hall rushed for 1,098 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 149 carries in 2024, averaging a robust 7.4 yards per carry. He added 17 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown through the air. In 2023, Hall ranked third in the NJCAA by averaging 7.2 yards per carry. He ran for 883 yards and 7 touchdowns, which earned him a spot on the All-MACCC South football Second Team.
Ole Miss also reeled in Akron transfer running back Jordan Simmons on Friday, so it’s been a good couple of days for the Rebels’ running back room.
