Ole Miss loses commitment from in-state 4-star 2020 defensive tackle
The Ole Miss Rebels’ 2020 recruiting class took a huge hit late Wednesday night when a 4-star player decommitted.
Talented in-state DT Josaih Hayes, a Horn Lake native, decided to reopen his recruitment.
As you can see below, Hayes announced his decision via Twitter. He mentioned that Ole Miss is still one of his top schools, though, so the Rebels still have a chance:
After talking with my family I’ve decided at this moment it’s best for me to decommit from the University of Mississippi . I feel Ole Miss is still one of my top schools but as of now my recruitment is still open. Please respect my decision.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Hayes is the No. 21 defensive tackle in the class of 2020 and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
The Rebels are now down to 22 players in their 2020 class. Prior to Hayes’s decommitment, the class ranked No. 22 in the nation and No. 10 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
