Ole Miss sees guard enter NCAA transfer portal after 2 seasons
Ole Miss guard James White is looking at continuing his college basketball career elsewhere. White is entering the NCAA transfer portal after 2 seasons with the Rebels.
In a tweeted note announcing his decision, White said he is not ruling out a return to Ole Miss. That presumably depends on who is hired as the next head coach of the Rebels.

Ole Miss fired head coach Kermit Davis before the end of the 2022-23 regular season. Win Case served as the acting head coach for the final stretch of regular-season games and during the SEC Tournament.
Ole Miss has not yet named a new permanent head coach, but that is expected to change sooner than later. On Thursday, it was reported that Ole Miss is close to hiring former Texas coach Chris Beard.
As a freshman, White made 17 appearances in the 2021-22 season, including 1 start, averaging 2.2 points in 6.9 minutes per game. This season, White’s playing time went up. White logged 29 appearances, including 7 starts, averaging 4 points over 13.7 minutes per game. He posted a career-high 14 points in the regular-season finale at Mizzou.
one of four players that has zero patience! I hope Beard reciprocates the same love.
Even as a State guy I have to agree. It always looks better to wait instead of possibly returning when the new coach is hired. They are kids in a generation that seems to reward such behavior so I’m not surprised either.
