Ole Miss signee Daeshun Ruffin wins Gatorade Player of the Year award in Mississippi

Ole Miss signee Daeshun Ruffin is a top-50 player in the 2021 class. He’s the top-rated player in the Rebels’ recruiting class, too.
He is an in-state player, coming from Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi. And, he was an absolute star in high school.
On Tuesday morning, it was revealed that Ruffin was named the Gatorade State Player of the Year for Mississippi this year:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Ruffin is the No. 8 point guard in the 2021 class and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
Ole Miss’s recruiting class ranks No. 33 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
