Ole Miss sophomore WR A.J. Brown is having a tremendous year for the Rebels.

Brown’s latest big game came against Louisiana-Lafayette over the weekend. He tied the Rebels single-game record for catches in a game with 14 in that contest. Brown finished the win with 185 yards and 2 TDs. He also holds the Rebels single-game record for receiving yards in a game after setting the record earlier this season.

The Ole Miss star is having a monster season and leads the SEC in catches (62), receiving yards (1,015), and is tied for the conference lead in receiving TDs (9) despite missing a game to injury. It was also announced on Monday that Brown is a semifinalist for a prestigious award.

The Biletnikoff Award released a list of 10 semifinalists for the national award with Brown still in the running. The award is annually given to the nations best pass catcher, regardless of position:

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes the outstanding receiver, not merely the outstanding wide receiver.

Brown ranks sixth in the nation in receiving yards and is one of 18 players nationally to score nine or more receiving touchdowns this season.
