Ole Miss has been able to put a slow start behind them and run away from South Alabama in the 2017 season opener. The Rebels lead 47-20 late in the fourth after the game was tied at 10 in the second quarter.

During the second half scoring flurry, the Rebels put up big offensive numbers through the air. So much so, receiver A.J. Brown has set the single-game record for receiving yards.

Brown turned it on in the third quarter with receiving TDs of 71 and 77 yards to jump start the Rebels’ offense. He would later break the receiving record in the fourth quarter with 233 yards on eight receptions.

Ole Miss Football tweeted out Brown’s accomplishment:

QB Shea Patterson and Brown provided an explosive combination for the Rebels Saturday night. Fans can only hope for more performances like these this season.
