Rebels hope history's on their side, wearing powder blue helmets at Alabama
Mississippi’s last win in Tuscaloosa came in 1988, when the Rebels donned powder blue helmets with white jerseys and grey pants during a 22-12 victory.
That same combo will return for Saturday night’s showdown at Alabama.
For the first time since 1994, the Rebels sported the powder blue helmets last season against Memphis, honoring the late Chucky Mullins, a former player who was paralyzed during a game in 1989. The Rebels donned the powder blue helmets from 1948-77 and again from 1983-94.
Same uniform combo as last Rebel win in Tuscaloosa in 1988. Get ready for 2 straight games of powder blue helmets. https://t.co/2i0qeI8ZrN

Yes.
While I don’t think Ole Miss will need the powder blues to win, I love it when they wear them!
Nor do I – but I’m a fan of that uni combo also!!
Not Tuscaloosa- It was Legion Field in B’ham..
I respect the reason why but I wish it was the crome lids instead
Umm no.
Chrome should never be used. Navy or Powder Blue. That’s it.
Agree 100% !!!!
Hate on chome or shiny if you want, it helps with recruiting the data dont lie. Better recruiting equals more wins long term (i.e. class of 2013). So just cause you don’t like it, doesn’t mean that people who impact the game (players) won’t.
I would suggest going back to the way you guys were brought out of the tunnel onto the playing field if u wanna throwback.. Looks too much like Les Miles bringing his tigers out to the field..IJS….
If I was an Ole Miss fan, that’s the helmet I would want to be standard. I don’t know why it ever changed, but that’s a cool look!
I love the powder blue helmets and wish they would wear them more often. But they were originally a mistake back in the 50’s. The company back then that made the helmets painted the helmets the wrong color. But back then Ole Miss couldn’t really do anything about it, so they had to wear them. But it turned out good because Ole Miss won a lot of games with them.
