In an unsurprising development, Chad Kelly’s latest brush with the law has cost him his spot on the Denver Broncos roster.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Broncos GM John Elway has decided to release Kelly after his latest arrest. Kelly was arrested for trespassing after entering a stranger’s home following a players-only Halloween party thrown by Von Miller. Kelly’s eyes appeared bloodshot in his mugshot from the arrest.

The former Ole Miss QB was “Mr. Irrelevant” in the 2017 NFL Draft, the last overall pick in the final round. Part of the reason behind that was the NFL’s decision to revoke Kelly’s invitation to the Combine due to an off-field incident in college. Kelly’s NFL career appeared to be on the right track, however, when he beat out Paxton Lynch, a first-round pick in the 2016 draft, for the backup quarterback job in Denver.

If Kelly remains in the NFL, it will be somewhere other than Denver.
