Though Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly has had his share of off-the-field incidents during his college career, he fully anticipated an invitation to the NFL Combine at the end of the month.

However, the NFL is taking a firm stance on not inviting draft prospects with questionable pasts to the event, and it came out on Wednesday that Kelly would not be making the trip to Indianapolis.

According to ProFootballTalk, though, Kelly had actually received an invitation to participate, only to have it rescinded on Wednesday:

Kelly has, without a doubt, had a colorful career. He got kicked out of Clemson for an incident in practice and has had his fair share of troubles at Ole Miss (all of which is detailed in this article).

However, unlike other players like Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon and Ole Miss WR Damore’ea Stringfellow, Kelly has never struck a woman. Therefore, his exclusion from this month’s event remains a bit of a mystery.

Whether or not the league offers an explanation for rescinding the Ole Miss quarterback’s invitation to the combine remains to be seen.
