Eli Manning can officially put his sports memorabilia case behind him.

Those who have followed the case may recall that it was reported Monday that Manning had reached a settlement in the civil matter with the sports memorabilia dealer. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, however, still wanted to know if the NFL would discipline Manning under its Personal Conduct Policy. The NFL has shown that league rulings regarding off-the-field conduct often differ from court rulings.

The NFL has responded to Florio, and it’s safe to say that Manning can breathe easy as he prepares for another season with the New York Giants.

“We monitored the situation and are satisfied that it is a civil matter that was resolved,” a league spokesperson told Pro Football Talk. “Not a [Personal Conduct Policy] issue.”

Florio, who was a lawyer before becoming part of the NFL media, argues that the NFL could have applied the Personal Conduct Policy if it wanted to. But the league appears satisfied with the civil settlement, which is good news for Manning.
