Ole Miss went out and made one of the biggest splash hires of the offseason when it lured Rich Rodriguez to Oxford to run Matt Luke’s offense. Now that the Rebels have begun spring practice in Oxford, we get a chance to see the coach known as Rich Rod in action in the SEC for the first time in his career.

The former Arizona, Michigan and West Virginia head coach is tasked with getting production from a unit that has lost its starting quarterback (Jordan Ta’amu), a left tackle (Greg Little) and a guard (Javon Patterson) that will both be playing in the NFL, along with a trio of receivers that could all be selected in the first two rounds of the upcoming draft (AJ Brown, DeMarkus Lodge and D.K. Metcalf) along with a tight end that could also be playing on Sundays next season (Dawson Knox).

That’s a job few would envy but the one Rodriguez is tasked with managing his first season back in college football after missing the 2018 season.
