Stanford Steve Coughlin has his eye on one of the big games in the SEC this week even though it’s an 11 a.m. local time kickoff at Ole Miss. It’s still a game between a pair of 4-0 teams.

“This is Ole Miss’ first big test,” he said while wearing a Kentucky shirt on “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt.” “They played 3 easy games to start, Tulsa game a little test last week.”

Coughlin noted that Ole Miss is third in the country in rushing yards per game at 280 yards per clip.

Coughlin recalled that Kentucky is battle tested in part because it’s already won in The Swamp at Florida.

“I think this is a stern test for Ole Miss,” he said.

Coughlin said it’s a test for Ole Miss because the Ole Miss schedule is “getable.”

“This game is huge for them because they finally get to see what they really have against a stern opponent,” he said.

Van Pelt, for his part, noted how Ole Miss does different things in the running game than most other teams, and the Cats themselves are also facing a test.
