No team has overcome a 3-run deficit in Omaha this season.

Only Fresno State and Oregon State have completed the task in College World Series history, and Rebels power hitter Tim Elko just catapulted Ole Miss over that threshold in the 3rd inning.

Elko’s blast was finalized at 352 feet with a 105 mph exit velocity. It’s his 24th home run of the season and puts the Rebels up 4 runs heading into its 4th frame of the evening.

The Rebels were team No. 64 of 64 just a few weeks ago. College baseball has long been a sport that favors the hot hand, and Ole Miss is certainly hot at the right time here at the end of June.

Ole Miss pitcher Jack Dougherty has held the Sooners hitless through 3 innings.
