Lane Kiffin rarely misses a chance to poke fun at other coaches, especially when its someone who worked with him.

Jeff Lebby, a former Ole Miss offensive coordinator now at Oklahoma, has reportedly taken the head coaching position at Mississippi State, a natural target for Kiffin’s trolling. That’s when a repost of an old Lebby tweet came into play, as he shared in December, 2021 a picture of his dress socks, which read, “We run the Sip” a battle cry for the Rebels.

Lebby is a former offensive coordinator at UCF under Josh Heupel, and under Lane Kiffin and, most recently, the past 2 seasons with Brent Venables at Oklahoma, Lebby is poised to become a first-time head coach, if the two sides can iron out a final deal as reports have noted that State is eyeing Lebby.

State has reportedly also targeted Liberty coach Jamey Chadwell, but that partnership didn’t see any traction. Others in the mix have reportedly been Troy head coach Jon Sumrall, Tulane’s Willie Fritz and NC State coach Dave Doeren.
