Zakhari Franklin has found a home in the SEC. The standout UTSA transfer wide receiver has committed to play for Ole Miss.

Franklin shared the big news Saturday on his Twitter account.

Franklin heads to Oxford after playing in 46 games over 4 seasons at UTSA. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for 2020 allows Franklin to play a 5th season.

In 2019, Franklin had a solid start to his career, logging 38 catches for 491 yards and 3 touchdowns as a freshman. Franklin became more productive in every season that followed. As a sophomore, Franklin recorded 49 catches for 694 yards and 7 scores over 10 games in 2020, earning honorable mention All-Conference USA recognition.

Franklin was named First-Team All-Conference USA in 2021 after posting his first 1,000-yard season. He finished the year with 81 catches for 1,027 yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 contests.

In 2022, Franklin posted another 1,000-yard season with double-digit touchdowns. Franklin posted career highs of 94 receptions for 1,136 yards and 15 scores. He was again named First-Team All-Conference USA.

Franklin arrives in Oxford as a proven playmaker. It will be exciting to see what kind of numbers he puts up playing for Lane Kiffin.
