There’s still one game remaining in the 2019-20 college football season, but Brett McMurphy of Stadium is already looking ahead to this coming fall.

In his “Way too early preseason Top 25 rankings” Monday night, he ranked seven SEC teams in the Top 25, including five in the Top 10.

Following Clemson and Ohio State at No. 1 and 2, respectively, the SEC occupied the next four spots and No. 8. The Big 12 was the only other conference with multiple teams in McMurphy’s Top 10.

Check out his full Top 10 rankings below:

  1. Clemson
  2. Ohio State
  3. LSU
  4. Alabama
  5. Auburn
  6. Texas A&M
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Florida
  9. Oregon
  10. Iowa State

Interestingly, the top four SEC teams on that list are all from the SEC West, including LSU leading the pack even without Joe Burrow. Florida comes in at No. 8 as an early favorite in the SEC East.

Not that the SEC wasn’t already well represented with that list, but a notable omission is Georgia. The Bulldogs lost quarterback Jake Fromm to the NFL draft, but they are bringing back a lot of defensive talent, and they recruited very well again in the 2020 cycle.

Georgia was the next most-highly rated SEC team after the Top 10, coming in at No. 13 on McMurphy’s list. Other conferences occupy most of the rest of the list, but then in another interesting choice, Ole Miss rounded out McMurphy’s early rankings at No. 25.

Here is a complete look at the rest of his Top 25:

11. Penn State
12. Wisconsin
13. Georgia
14. USC
15. Notre Dame
16. Texas
17. TCU
18. Michigan
