It was a great year for SEC baseball, and even though Arkansas lost the College World Series in devastating fashion, it doesn’t take away from an outstanding season.

Now that all is said and done, Baseball America released its final top-25 poll of the 2018 season, and eight SEC squads made the cut.

As you can see below, Arkansas leads the way at No. 2, followed by seven other SEC teams that had great 2018 campaigns:

  • No. 2 — Arkansas
  • No. 3 — Florida
  • No. 6 — Mississippi State
  • No. 13 — Auburn
  • No. 15 — South Carolina
  • No. 16 — Ole Miss
  • No. 17 — Vanderbilt
  • No. 21 — Georgia

A couple of other SEC teams probably could have made the cut, like LSU and Texas A&M, but all in all, it was a strong showing for the conference.

Next year should be another strong year for the SEC, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few more teams make their way to Omaha in 2019.
