March Madness could look radically different in 2021 if the NCAA follows an ACC proposal. College basketball insider Jeff Goodman shared Wednesday morning that the ACC coaches voted unanimously in favor of a proposal to have a postseason tournament that includes all Division I schools.

For the 2020-21 season, there are 350 schools spread out over 32 Division I conferences. There are also seven schools in transition from Division II to Division I and participating in DI conferences.

Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports reports that the all-inclusive Big Dance plan would turn conference championship week into the opening round of the tournament with the field back to 64-68 teams by the following week.

We’ll see if the ACC idea catches on.
