Amarius Mims was scheduled to announce his college commitment on Aug. 15 but Georgia’s top prospect is going to need some more time before making his college decision known.

Chad Simmons of Rivals is reporting that Mims has pushed his scheduled commitment date back to Oct. 14, which just so happens to be the five-star lineman’s upcoming birthday.

In addition to that news, Simmons notes that Mims has eliminated Oklahoma from consideration. That means Mims is down to Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida State.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Mims is a top 10 overall prospect nationally (No. 6 overall, to be exact), the No. 2 offensive tackle prospect, and the highest-rated recruit from Georgia in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Cochran, Ga., native and Bleckley County High School standout is already committed to playing in the 2021 Under Armour All-American Game when his high school career comes to an end.
