Brunson committed to Louisville back in July, and he took his first official visit there earlier this month.
However, according to thestate.com, new South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp captured Brunson attention when he went straight to Brunson’s house after being announced as the Gamecocks head coach.
“It was a big deal for him to come by after his press conference,” Brunson said. “It makes a difference, like I’m a priority. It definitely makes a difference in their chances to get me.”
Brunson will make his official visit to South Carolina Jan. 15, and he is considering visiting Purdue, as well. He is expected to make an announcement soon after.
Unless something has changed in last hour or so, RNE LB and #Gamecocks target TJ Brunson will wait until January to make final decision.

This weekend, Brunson played his final high school football game in the annual Shrine Bowl at Wofford College. He was named Defensive MVP of the game, and he racked up 13 tackles.
Brunson leads his team with 138 tackles.
I’m sure he’s a great player but ummmm… Defensive player of the game was ILB Aaron Ramseur from Crest High School. Saw the trophy myself.
The Shrine Bowl is NC vs. SC. Brunson won Defensive MVP for SC. I’m guessing Ramseur won for NC.
LOL 3 stars is a “top recruit”?
Hot damn! A three star from Louisville?! He IS winning the recruiting war. Boom.
What a joke…
FL without drugs is a joke, LOL
There were idiots just like you a few years ago saying the exact same BS when Barry Alvarez was excited about getting a two-star TE with 8 career catches to transfer to Wisconsin to play DE. Does the name JJ Watt ring a bell?? Johnny Manziel and Marcus Mariota were both three-stars who won a Heisman, declared early, and became first round picks. Just goes to show stars are given out by self-declared experts and rarely predict how players’ turn out.
Brunson is by all accounts an underrated recruit (as he proved winning SC defensive MVP over other 4* guys). Take a look at the guys tape. I’m excited about him.
Muschamp stated himself that his main priority is to start winning back the recruiting in the state of SC. The last few years the talent has been down. But 2017 is going to be a great class, and 2018 is going to be phenomenal. This is all apart of building these relationships. Getting guys like Brunson will help us bring in younger guys from his school. There is enough talent in SC that this is a great strategy. Would rather have a underrated 3 star in-state than a 4 star from somewhere in the Northeast. Just my opinion though.
Yep. Ya can question a lot of things about coach boom. But his recruiting prowess ain’t among them. If boom sees potential stars be Damned.
Stoby: Couldn’t agree more. No one bats an eye anymore when Bill Belichick drafts a guy no one else thought was worth a pick, and there’s a damn good reason for that. Muschamp is the same way.
