According to Erin Edgemon of AL.com, the Auburn Police Department is investigating social media threats directed toward Gus Malzahn and Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The culprit behind Twitter account @bhayes4420 published violent dialogue aimed at Malzahn on Sunday then followed that up with a tweet threatening to detonate Auburn’s home venue with C-4.

The tweets have since been deleted, according to Police Chief Paul Register, and the investigation’s ongoing. Whether the tweets were intended to harm or were just ranting, Register is hoping to clear the air.

“Even if it isn’t a direct threat, it does become alarming to people, and that is when it becomes our business,” Register said to AL.com.

Register also said the user appears to be from out of state and has a history of making sports-related rants.
