The Auburn Tigers will travel to College Station, Texas this Saturday, September 21st, 2019, to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.

The game will take place at Kyle Field, which has been the home of the Aggies since 1927.

Auburn enters week four of the college football season ranked number 8 in the AP Top 25, while Texas A&M enters the week ranked number 17.

This will be the first SEC game for both teams, and it’s always important to get that first win in conference play. Texas A&M will be looking to rebound after a 24-10 loss at Clemson two weeks ago, and Auburn will be looking to improve to 4-0. For Auburn, a loss here would be a tough start to an extremely difficult SEC schedule this year. A loss for Texas A&M would be another tough blow to the moral of this young Texas A&M team.

Auburn vs. Texas A&M players to watch

Bo Nix won the quarterback battle in fall camp and might be the biggest story coming into this game against Texas A&M. The true freshman will be making his first true road start, and it will be his first SEC game. Nix struggled against Oregon and didn’t look the best against Tulane. It will be interesting to see how he performs against Texas A&M.

Kellen Mond is one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC. He will have his hands full dealing with what could be the best defense in the SEC this weekend. Mond will be looking to have somewhat of a rebound game against Auburn because of his mediocre performance against Clemson two weekends ago.

Some Auburn fans would argue that JaTarvious Whitlow is the key to the Auburn offense. In fact, Auburn may not have defeated Oregon without Whitlow. He has rushed for 341 yards and three touchdowns this season. Whitlow is averaging an outstanding 5.3 yards per carry, but most importantly hasn’t turned the ball over this season. If Auburn wants to win this game, they will need Whitlow to run the ball effectively, and so far this season, he has done that.

Isaiah Spiller broke onto the scene this season for the Aggies. The true freshman has rushed for 246 yards and two touchdowns this season, while only getting 28 carries. Spiller has his first big test as the starter this weekend against the best front seven in the country.

Auburn vs. Texas A&M odds

The longest win streak in the series also belongs to Texas A&M, winning three games from 1911-2012.

Auburn week three review

Auburn hosted the Kent State Golden Flashes in week three of the college football season. The game was never really close, as Auburn led 24-10 at halftime, and ended up winning the game 55-16.

The Auburn offense was hitting on all cylinders against Kent State, rushing for 467 yards and passing for 166 yards. It was a fairly easy game for Auburn, and the majority of the backups were in by the fourth quarter. Bo Nix went 12-16 with 161 yards and added a touchdown through the air. JaTarvious Whitlow rushed for 135 yards and added two touchdowns. Overall, it was a very dominant and complete performance from the Auburn offense.

The Auburn defense had a very strong showing against Kent State. They only gave up 92 yards on the ground and 229 yards through the air. This weekend will be a tougher challenge, though. The Texas A&M offense is explosive and it will certainly be interesting to see how they match up against Auburn’s defense.

The Aggie offense was rolling last Saturday, as they rushed for 223 yards and passed for 410 yards, not to mention they put up a season-high 62 points.

The Texas A&M was stellar against Lamar. They only allowed 197 total yards and three points. The Aggies also forced two turnovers in the blowout win against Lamar.
