CBS Sports names 6 from SEC first-team preseason All-Americans

CBS Sports unveiled its 2017 preseason All-America team on Wednesday, and the SEC doesn’t get to claim top conference.

The ACC leads all conferences with seven first-team selections. The SEC comes in second with six picks, headlined by unanimous selections LSU LB Arden Key and Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick. Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk made first team as a punt returner and second team as a wide receiver and all-purpose player.

SEC players make for 15 selections in all on the team.

  • Arkansas C Frank Ragnow
  • Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk (2nd team)
  • Alabama WR Calvin Ridley (2nd)
  • Alabama OL Jonah Williams (2nd)
  • Florida OL Martez Ivey (2nd)

Defense:

  • LSU LB Arden Key (unanimous)
  • Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick (unanimous)
  • Alabama DL Da’Ron Payne (2nd)
  • Florida CB Duke Dawson (2nd)
