There’s been a decent sample size out to develop some narratives around the Heisman Trophy. The analysts on the CBS Sports Network and “Inside College Football” have outlined their favorites entering Week 3.

Brian Jones: USC’s Caleb Williams, Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Miami’s Tyler Van Dyke.

Randy Cross: USC’s Caleb Williams, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. Cross added that fans shouldn’t forget Penix, and that Sanders is having a great season, but Williams is “hard to vote against.”

Aaron Taylor: Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. and South Carolina’s Xavier Legette. Taylor said he uses his Heisman ballot as a public service announcement, and noted that Legette is averaging 100 yards per game, and 20 yards per catch. “We’ve got 2-way players, kind of like the Charles Woodson, and Shedeur Sanders, the kid is just a highlight machine in the making,” Taylor said.

Rick Neuheisel: Texas’ Quinn Ewers, USC’s Caleb Williams and Michigan’s JJ McCarthy.
Neuheisel said Ewers is on a really good team and will just get better on the outside.
