Tennessee and LSU are two of the most overrated teams in the 2016 preseason Coaches Poll, according to CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli.

The Vols topped Fornelli’s list while the Tigers ranked third. Tennessee is No. 10 overall in the actual Coaches Poll and received a first-place vote. However, head coach Butch Jones is 3-13 against top 25 teams and 0-9 against top 10 teams since taking over in 2013.

LSU ranks No. 6 in the Coaches Poll, which Fornelli points out is six points ahead of Ole Miss, who beat the Tigers by 21 points in 2015. He also refers to the quarterback situation as “iffy at best,” which could put too much on Leonard Fournette’s plate.

But Fornelli failed to mention LSU and Tennessee return more starters than any other SEC teams, which is why they have so much hype entering the season. Sure, he does credit them both as being good teams, but is perhaps underestimating how talented and experienced both are entering the season.
