Which SEC coach sits on the hottest seat entering 2018?

In college football, you’re only as good as your last game, and there are only 12 of them during the regular season. CBS Sports unveiled its annual coaches hot seat rankings for 2018. Dennis Dodd produces the rankings every July, and this year, no SEC coaches fell under the subheading of “Win or be fired.”

However, Mark Stoops and Ed Orgeron fell under the subheading of “Start improving now.” Ironically, Paul Finebaum recently discussed Orgeron’s hot seat status, saying that he’d potentially have to finish lower than 7-5 for LSU to make a change.

On the other end of the spectrum, Nick Saban and Kirby Smart were labeled untouchable. While it’s splitting hairs, Saban is obviously the most untouchable coach in college football, with others like Dabo Swinney, Urban Meyer and Kirby Smart behind him.

Here are Dodd’s hot seat rankings for every SEC coach:

Start improving now

Mark Stoops, Kentucky
Ed Oregon, LSU

Barry Odom, Missouri
Derek Mason, Vanderbilt
