Some unfortunate news to share as another upcoming bowl game has made the tough decision to not play this postseason.

The Big Ten and the ACC are each down a bowl slot following the news that the 2020 New Era Pinstripe Bowl will not be played.

The bowl game is annually set inside Yankee Stadium, creating one of the most unique environments in college football’s postseason.

Here is the statement issued by the bowl game on Friday:

“Due to the recent increase in Coronavirus cases, which as led to the imposition of various travel restrictions and the cancellation of many college football games, including those in the Big Ten and ACC Conferences, we have made the decision out of an abundance of caution and in conjunction with both conferences to cancel the 2020 New Era Pinstripe Bowl. The priority of the Yankees, New Era Pinstripe Bowl, Big Ten and ACC is the safety of players, coaches and staff, and this decision is consistent with that approach. We look forward to hosting the New Era Pinstripe Bowl with an enthusiastic crowd filling Yanke Stadium in 2021.”

Hopefully, this is the last time bowl games like the New Era Pinstripe Bowl have to announce disappointing news like this in the seasons to come.
